You'll still need either a disk in the drive or an ISO mounted to play. To play, launch Fleet Ops, then go to Options -> Mod Settings to launch mods and create shortcuts to mods. It should look like so: "Fleet Operations\Data\Mods\STA2 Classic" with that last folder containing a bunch of files and sub-folders. Just go to the FO install location, go to the Data folder, create a Mods folder, and extract the folder there. You can then install The Classic Mod to access the original Armada 2 gameplay and campaign. 1) Heading should look different 2) Use selectprefix 3) quote paths 4) do cd TEMP echo HKEYCURRENTUSERSoftwareWineDirect3D > armada. Just run the installer and follow the directions. Instead, install Fleet Ops using the A2 disk. The best solution is to not install A2 right away. This isn't an insurmountable problem, though. If you're on Windows 10 (and maybe 8) you don't even need special software since there's an ISO mounting system integrated into the OS.īeyond that, though, the Armada games are pretty much incompatible with anything later than XP. I backed up my disk a long time ago and that's how I've been playing for nearly a decade. It should just detect that the disk is in a drive so long as the ISO is mounted.
